Great results for the Romanian Language Students at the ”Lucian Blaga” International Colloquium”, Sibiu, Romania
Every October since 1999, the “Lucian Blaga” International Colloquium has been taking place at the Faculty of Letters and Arts from Sibiu. Like all scientific events, “Lucian Blaga” Colloquium plays an important role in helping young researchers make their ideas known and in consolidating the academic standard of shared cultural values.
This conference is one of the most notable in the country, as it gathers each year students and professors from the most important universities in Romania, and translators from more than ten countries around the world. For the past twenty years, the conference, together with the Lucian Blaga Yearbook, its publication, has been an important contributor to the perpetuation of Lucian Blaga’s works. Lucian Blaga Yearbook is indexed in the CEEOL and COSMOS international databases and in the Copernicus Index.
This year, due to the pandemic crisis, the colloquium was held online, on October 30. For the first time since the foundation of the Romanian language lectorate at Charles University, six students enrolled in the Advanced Romanian Language Courses participated in the translation section, under the guidance of MA Nicolae Adrian Henț. Their translation of fragments from Lucian’s Blaga play ”Meșterul Manole” was highly appreciated by the jury and they were awarded with the following prizes:
Jan ČermÁk FIRST PRIZE
Eva Milea FIRST PRIZE
Anastassiya Kononenko SECOND PRIZE
Jan Bergl SECOND PRIZE
Matyáš Kohn THIRD PRIZE
Alexandra Jočić THIRD PRIZE
Congratulations to all of them
