Balkan Studies(BS) is an open access international journal published by the Institute for Balkan Studies in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The journal publishes re-search papers in the fields of History, Social Studies, Folklore, Economy, Religion, etc. from Antiquity to Moderntimes and focuses particularly on the geographic area ofEastern Mediterranean: Balkans/SE Europe, Black Sea, Middle East, North Africa.
Since 2012 Balkan Studiesis published in electronic version on the official website of the Institute for Balkan Studies: www.imxa.gr.Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers for Vol. 54which is scheduled to be published by the end of 2021.
